The School of Fire Protection Engineering Technology acknowledges the land on which we teach and learn is stewarded by Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat Nations. We acknowledge Treaty 13 (Toronto Purchase) signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, and the Williams Treaty, signed with multiple Mississauga and Chippewa First Nations.

We are all interconnected as treaty people with the many diverse Indigenous people, including First Nations, Metis and Inuit who continue their unceasing stewardship of these lands and waters.

As fire protection practitioners, our goal is to reduce the destruction of fire to the land and the life it sustains. Our promise is to respect the teachings of our local fire keepers, learn from Traditional Ecological Knowledge, and promote sustainable methods of fire safety to maintain the One Dish, One Spoon concept for our Descendants seven generations forward as our Ancestors seven generations back did for us.
